Viewpoint Community Media are a new, small community organisation that are using opportunities in media to create community. Focussed on bringing people together to work on community media projects, the project is trying to do big things with limited resources. Exactly the kind of challenge that Oikos enjoys.
The work was a simple website build based on WordPress and an off-the-shelf theme that would showcase the work and the supporters of the project.
Accessibility was a strong requirement, and so advice and technical implementation of accessibility features was needed too. These, and other requirements that emerged as the project progressed, needed to be worked into the custom code – a process which required some technical ingenuity to get things done while keeping the project costs low.
With the addition of general technical advice, informal training on social media and search engine optimisation, and hosting and support, I was able to provide an end-to-end solution for this small organisation.
Oikos delivered a great website, customised to ViewPoint’s needs, for great value. The combination of off-the-shelf tools and custom tweaks delivered what Viewpoint needed at low cost.
They’re excited about the launch and the future of both the project and this new communications tool.
