I love to help small, local organisations doing good work in the community by offering help. Swindon Heritage are a social enterprise who produce a very high-quality, quarterly magazine about local history, and they put on events and generally support local heritage – which Swindon happens to have in spades!
We used WordPress and an off-the-shelf theme with some customisations to help Swindon Heritage move towards a properly content-managed website with options for eCommerce in the future.
The key part of this task was consultancy – sitting with the client and demonstrating the possibilities, and recommending tools and changes that would be beneficial.
Follow up work included some hand-holding through the website build and ensuring a smooth go-live process.
Swindon Heritage are really pleased with their new website and taking full advantage of the fact that they now have WordPress by posting lots of great new material on an almost daily basis.
I’ll continue to work with them on the site to enable new features. But part of the joy of our work is enabling small organisations to help themselves. This is exactly what was achieved here and Graham and the team can be really proud of what they’ve done.
